GREAT7-GRAND-SON OF:

I can my own gasoline at home -- it smells like orange peels Kerry harkens back to his experience with the Vietnamese whom he describes as being childlike in their desire to be left alone by the big bad forces of Communism and American Imperialism -- to be left in peace to tend their rice paddys. He fails entirely to comprehend that the little brown people around the world are fully capable of standing up and being adults who are in charge of their own lives in a free society. Not an [sneer quotes]American-style[/sneer quotes] society -- but one of their own making. This is what the Bush policy demands. This is what Life demands of us all. But, no -- Kerry and his kin maintain that fighting in Iarq is making Osama and crew madder at us. Nothing to do with their religious beliefs or world view. It is, to Kerry, all about us. How could these little brown people have opinions or ideas or agendas of their own? They act merely in reaction to us. They exist merely to reflect us. That is the reflection of the personal Kerry in his foreign policy that I find the most alarming.

''We need to engage more directly and more respectfully with Islam, with the state of Islam, with religious leaders, mullahs, imams, clerics, in a way that proves this is not a clash with the British and the Americans and the old forces they remember from the colonial days. And that's all about your diplomacy.''

There it is -- he knows what they are thinking. Maybe better than they do... And why does he not require others -- anyone -- treat us with respect?

'I know Mubarak well enough to know what I think I could achieve in ...Egypt,'' Kerry went on. ''And, similarly, with Jordan and with King Abdullah " ...John Kerry sees himself as a kind of ambassador-president, shuttling to world capitals and reintegrating America, by force of personality, into the world community.

. NB I'm gonna break this up into several pieces so as not to go on and on and fucking on to make it less egregious. The original piece is Kerry's Undeclared War from the NYT Magazine. [login: biasedashell PW: dncshill]
