Feinstein Amazed!
folks are hot for Free Money
Yeah. Whoda thunk?
Prospects that the U.S. Senate will add $2 billion to the “cash for clunkers” program increased when [Dianne Feinstein and Susan Collins] who had said the auto discounts provide too few environmental benefits changed their minds.
...“This program has done much better than we ever thought it would for the environment,” Feinstein told reporters. “The best solution is to continue the program as-is.”
For the “enviiiironment,” eh? Didja count the Carbon Footprint of the mining/recycling of the metals? the wires? the petroleum-based plastics? the heavy metals for the batteries? the computer chips? the shipping fuels? [many from overseas]
Howz about the fact that many if not most of the “Clunkers” were third cars, hardly used, and the new cars will be used more? That all the money is borrowed from your pals the ChiComs who are responsible for 25% of the air pollution in CA? [and who prefer their food living?]
It’s be a real leap of faith for a dealer to accept they’re gonna get their money out of the Feds in anything resembling a timely manner. And what about the appliance manufacturers? Will they next give folks who can afford a new kitchen some taxpayer money to junk their Refrig-a-Clunker? And what about the Sof-a-Clunker?!
Frankly Princess DiFi, I think it’s time we recycled our Senat-a-Clunkor for someone who --doesn’t have their and their spouse’s hands deep in the cookie jar --can think past her own wallet --won’t screw US to the wall at every opportunity.
