Failure of Imagination
This is me being helpful.
So yesterday as I wandered thru the kitchen while The Mister was watching the news nooooz and enjoying his lovely Stouffers lunch [hey! he likes ‘em and who am *I* to argue?!?] I heard Diane Feensteen say that alla the messages she got from constituents about the amnesty bill were “horrible and racist.”
Lookie here, Lady DiFi; that term is getting so over-used and threadbare it’s almost losing its power to offend me. Hardly even honks me off any more. Let’s you be the first kid on the block to come up with a new one, m’kay?
Here it is:
felonophobic
fel-on-o-fó-bik adjective1. of, pertaining to, or characteristic of felonophobia: When she couldn’t comprehend Congress’ strategy of accepting millions of proven felons from other countries as American citizens, it was due to her felonophobic panic.
felonophobia
fel-on-o-fó-bee-ah n1. A completely rational fear of thousands of illegal alien felons suddenly being made citizens.
2. A completely rational fear of encountering dangerous [formerly alien] felons, paying for the actions of dangerous [formerly alien] felons &/or paying for the incarceration of dangerous [formerly alien] felons. [including un-indicted members of the Clinton administration]
Give that one a turn.
Dear Di:
This is a border. Got it? This is Our Side, that is Their Side. Get it? Got it? Good.I don’t care if they’re ax-wielding Swedes or lily-toting Tibetans - they want to come here, they play by the rules.
(If we have any left.)
