Even More Fun

The Grey on Ice was such a hit [!], I think I'll tell you about my other fave summer treat, also renamed in honor of the California Recall:

Ahhnold's Robed Bananas frozen bananas dipped in choccolate

6 bananas [firm and sweet] 1 bar [9.7 oz.] 70% Scharffen Berger Chocolate Shish-ke-bob skewers or popsicle sticks [or sterling silver corn holders -- whatever you have lying around the house -- remember, Ahnold can't be bought]

Peel 'naners, halve and place on a plate in the freezer. Don't forget to spear 'em with the holder/sticks in the cut end. It only takes a coupla-few hours to freeze 'em hard. When 'naners are hard, shave or chop the chocolate and melt it [the whole bar] over a double boiler making sure not to allow it to get above 99°. It should feel about the same temp as the inside of your wrist. Remove it from the heat often and stir to melt. Dip 'nanners in melted chocolate and hold vertical to allow the excess chocolate to drip off the end back into the bowl. Hold for a minute or so til the cold in the 'naner hardens the chocolate. Lay on parchment paper to be returned to freezer. After they are good and hard, the robed 'naners can be stored in a zippie-bag til eaten. It won't take long! Another way to enjoy the summer -- thanks to the California Recall !

  1. To get the full Ahhhnold effect you have to apparently cut the bananas into very...small...pieces.

    I mean, that’s just what I heard.
