Discomfiting

Yes, yes -- nothing is perfect. But this tale of a woman's flight on the same plane with 14 Syrian male fellow passengers -- who were acting more than just suspiciously -- gives serious pause to anyone considering flying.

The man in the yellow T-shirt got out of his seat and went to the lavatory at the front of coach -- taking his full McDonald's bag with him. When he came out of the lavatory he still had the McDonald's bag, but it was now almost empty. He walked down the aisle to the back of the plane, still holding the bag. When he passed two of the men sitting mid-cabin, he gave a thumbs-up sign. When he returned to his seat, he no longer had the McDonald's bag.

More and more odd behavior is described and, although the cabin crew was aware of it, they did not turn on the "sit down and quit being weird fasten your seat belt" sign or talk with the stander-arounders as I'm sure they would have for you or me. Apparently there was contact with the Feds of some sort -- on board or otherwise -- as the 12 were held and questioned. But they were let go apparently because they were Middle Eastern males and, of course, no one would want to "profile." This is just something to be aware of. I also think the FAA, DoT, et al could use a little smack upside the haid with a wet fish tug on the sleeve to remind them that getting blown out of the sky cuz you're an American is profiling, as well.
