Disappointment !!

The Crop Circles weren't real ! Four teenagers showed a reporter from the Vacaville Reporter how they created the crop circles with rope, boards, and tape. [Instructions here] The editor of the paper made an exception to his usual rule of not printing stiroes from anonymous sources citing the age of the 'perps.' Their inspiration was a TV documentary and their motivation -- summer boredom. The editor adds this caveat:

We have examined the facts as they were presented to our reporter by these boys, and we believe their story. But, with crop circles stories and other tales of the paranormal, we understand that ultimately, you will believe what you want to believe - Editor.

heh

...the young men have returned to the scene scores of times. They said they like watching the reactions of people wandering in the circles. They've even confessed more than once to so-called experts who have pooh-poohed their claims. ...One guy told them, 'You don't look intelligent enough to do it.' "

However, they're generous with their ...uh, 'creativity.'

"One lady said she cured her back pain by rubbing the wheat on her back," [one creative teen] said. "If it does that, we'll make more circles for them."
