Culture of the Apollo Era
Good interview with Walter Cunningham, author of The All-American Boys, on Pete Wilson -- KGO today. He mentioned his disagreement with Chapter V of the Columbia Report saying [paraphrased] the culture of NASA during the time of Apollo was what made American space exploration a success. Most of the people were young and the feeling was entrepreneurial. Today, NASA managers think more about the effect a decision may have on their career path than its effect on the mission. A culture of bureaucracy. Cunningham will be at the Sunnyvale Clean Well Lighted Place for Books at 7pm tonight.Talking ‘bout Apollo Era. I’m amazed you haven’t said anything about the “Taikonaut” ?
