Lemme tell ya a leedle story.  I’ll set the stage by reminding you that Arizona and New Mexico have declared actual states of emergency concerning the flood of illegal criminals crossing their borders.  Chris Simcox and the Minutemen have been doing an excellent job, but apparently there are less disciplined groups also helping ranchers along the border defend themselves. One is called Ranch Rescue.

In 2003, Edwin Alfredo Mancia Gonzales and Fatima del Socorro Leiva Medina, both of El Salvador, were crossing, illegally, from Mexico into a ranch in Hebbronville TX, owned by Joe Sutton.  Casey Nethercott from Ranch Rescue caught them and here’s where the story gets foggy.  Both the illegals and Nethercott say that Nethercott held the two for about an hour, both say he gave them cookies, both say Nethercott gave them water and a blanket.  The two illegals also say that Nethercott pistol whipped Gonzales.  I have as yet been unable to find any report of Nethercott’s response to that charge.

A Texas jury deadlocked on the assault charge but sent Nethercott up for five years on a firearms charge.  Nethercott was not convicted of assaulting Gonsales.

Nevertheless, the two illegals showed up with a lowyah from The Southern Poverty Law Center and sued Nethercott, Sutton, and the founder of Ranch Rescue, Jack Foote, for “post traumatic distress.” The Suttons settled for $100,000.  Somehow, Nethercott and Foote failed to defend themselves so a ‘judge’ awarded in default.  Foote - $500,000.  Nethercott—$850,000.

What these two illegal border crossers—who are still here awaiting their “special visas for crime victims”—got for their trouble is Nethercott’s Douglas County AZ ranch.

Repeatan, por favor:  Two illegal border crossers accuse a man of assaulting them, he is not convicted, yet the two illegals end up with $600,000 and the man’s ranch.  And “special” visas.  The streets of America are paved with gold, indeed.  And morons.

I’m sure there will be more coming out about this story; I sure as hell hope so.  But it raises some questions for me:

What do a coupla El Salvadorian peasants know about law suits and “post traumatic stress?”

Why would a couple of illegal border crossers be going to the police over getting smacked around?  The Federales at the border do much worse—as do the coyotes—and it is well known to expect that.  Yet they run to the TX police with all the huffy outrage of a couple of A&M sorority girls.

What the hell are the Southern Poverty Law Center sharks doing circling the waters in Texas?

“Certainly it’s poetic justice that these undocumented workers own this land,” said Morris S. Dees Jr., chief trial counsel of the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Ala.  “When we got into this case, ranchers all along the border were allowing these types to come on their property,” Dees said. “Now, they’re very leery of it, especially when they see someone losing their ranch because of it.” [emph. mine e-C]

oh.....

  1. Note to self:
    1) Don’t offer milk and cookies to Illegal Aliens trespassing on my ranch and pissing on America.
    2) Shoot them on the spot and bury them.  70 Acres is a lot of room for a lot of bodies.
    3) If a lawyer shows up asking about missing aliens, shoot him and bury him too.

  2. Thus exemplifying my hunch that any sane person would be forced to consider “Shoot, Shovel and Shaddap.” [as with ‘endangered’ species]

I resent the hell outta being put in a situation where that would have to occur to me.

  3. Sounds like the border will see a lot more 3-S ranches......
