Well? ‘S troo. If they’re gonna make ‘policy decisions’ that fit their population, they really have to know all sorts of things about said population. Otherwise they’ll be making decisions in the dark.
‘Course if the people were to make their own decisions and then instruct those whom they employ to carry out those decisions on behalf of The People, folks wouldn’t be having to go pawing through other folks’ trash in the dark of night.

Evidently the EU figures their men are so noble and virtuous that asking such a question of them would be just plain silly.
We really need to keep our eyes on the EU and ask again and again, “do we want to go there?”.
