*bangs head on wall*

yet another reason Billy da G oughta be shmacked

I just got a load of what e-biscuit looks like in IE—yech!!!!  ptui!!!  bleagh!!

I’ll be working on that in hours/days to come.....

[note to self—re-pad wall.] [ again.]

Standards are a *good thing.*

That’s why we have so many of ‘em....

  1. Claire, Microsoft (tries to anyway) makes its own standards wink I read a Firefox support forum and constantly see ppl bitching “IE works but FF doesn’t” on this or that website. The problem is that many sites are designed so that they *only* work in IE (especially some bank sites). With all the flaws in IE and the fact that FF works on many platforms besides Windoze I like my choice of browser grin

  2. Still running Firefox, so I don’t know what it might look like in IE, but your right sidebar is gone now.  :(

And Firfox 1.0 DOES have some kind of flaw in it that about half the time I get an error that a site isn’t there… waiting for the next build… :/

  3. pamibe, I’ve been using Firefox since 0.8 (running 1.0 now) and I’m not seeing that issue. Sounds like a DNS problem with your ISP to me.

  4. Oops.  In Mac Jaguar/Safari what I’m guessing is the right sidebar (Reading/ Wondering/ Viewing, etc.) is at the bottom of the page aligned left.

  5. I’ve been running Firefox since before .8 and thinking of going back to .9 if I can locate a link.  It’s not just me; a lot of people are having the problem…

I’ve tried fix after fix suggested in the forums… new firmware for my router, etc…

Sorry for the Firefox flap, Claire!  ;)

Oh, THAT’S where the right sidebar is!  Yep, Scott’s right.

  6. Hey Claire
I just noticed. I run IE 6 and my screen is 800x600 pix. I tried way back to run 1024 but it was too small for my pres-by-ope eyes.
I do have to scroll to see the right side (which I guess your still working on becasue nothing is linked) but maybe that’s due to my screen pix at 800.

  7. Yeah, Lloyd, it is about the 800x600 thing.  And I know whatcha mean about the eyes.  I have a thing on the top of my browser [Safari] that lets me increase the print size on a page by page basis.  Opera has it too.  I dunno ‘bout Firefox.  ...and if a feature is useful, I’m sure IE doesn’t have it.

And Pamibe—I’m enjoying this thread.  I learn so much from y’all!
