I love the smell of Bullshiite in the morning

only if it’s from a real bull...

Tks for all that expensive “analysis” we bought; very helpful.

An asteroid could have destroyed the entire Unites States outside of Washington, D.C., and (as long as the ["stimulus"] money was spent), the CBO’s model would have still claimed the stimulus saved 1.5 million jobs. ...

CBO never actually counted the jobs. Nor did their analysis take into account the rising unemployment rate. Or the economic figures. Or how effectively the money was spent. They merely assumed this government spending “must have” saved 1.5 million jobs.

the questions just write themselves...

Two weeks ago, thieves broke into the Eli Lilly & Co. warehouse in Enfield and drove off with a tractor-trailer filled with $75 million worth of prescription drugs. Narcotics and prescription painkillers, which are not stored at the facility, didn’t appear to be the target…

Instead, the crooks took pallets of the anti-cancer drugs Gemzar and Alimta, the schizophrenia drug Zyprexa, the antidepressant Cymbalta and other prescription medicines.

..."These are very expensive drugs,” ... “It’s almost as though they had an order for it."

The incident is the latest in a string of similar thefts in recent years that have become a concern to regulators. ... Last year, there were 46 drug thefts valued at a total of $184 million ...

In the past, stolen drugs have appeared on the shelves of pharmacies or the black market, according to industry experts. Thieves also sell stolen goods to buyers in Latin American or Asian countries.

The FDA said Tuesday that it has been investigating various thefts of both prescription and over-the-counter drugs as well as medical devices, infant formula and other FDA-regulated products.

Mmmmm.....

Candied bacon pound cake?!?

The study showed that rats allowed unlimited access to junk foods like bacon, sausage, pound cake, candy bars and other deplorably unhealthy fare gained weight quickly.

“Deplorably unhealthy” ?!?  [nice job of journalistic evenhandedness sticking to Teh Narrative]

Ok, dammit.  The FOODS are NOT “unhealthy.” The way in which they may be used may be “unhealthy.” Rational beings know that candied bacon pound cake is not an every-day/all-day diet.  Rational beings know that one must eat one’s spinach.  Most Rational beings enjoy their spinach.

But we’re not dealing with Rational beings, here, are we?  We’re dealing with rats.  Rats don’t think.  These rats had nothing else available from which to get their nutrition.  So are “we” making decisions for people—who have choices—based on the behavior of rats?!?

Why?

And that’s not all; the worst part is that the rats became so addicted to the junk food, they began compulsively eating it, despite the fact that they received an unpleasant electric shock to their feet if they consumed more than was allowed.

... rats under the influence of junk food the dopamine D2 receptor in the brain’s reward system suppressed; compulsive eating soon followed. ... bla bla bla ... This is not the only study suggesting that food can be addictive. ...

This is an animal study; the findings may not apply to humans.  However, there is that altogether reasonable possibility that they just might.

“Might”?!?
*facepalm* here we go:

Rats become “addicted” to “Junk Food” -> The substance creates the addiction* ->Addicts do not have a choice* -> We must “protect” good people from the eeeevil substance that will make them addicts

* popular, but false meme.

A pencil is a piece of technology.

A pencil can be used to write a sonnet.  A pencil can be used to stab someone’s eye out.

While earth hour activists will be left in the dark, Human Achievement Hour participants will be going to the cinema, enjoying a hot meal, driving their car or watching television. ...there is no limit to what mankind can achieve.

ship named the Archduke Ferdinand by any chance?

A South Korean navy ship with about 100 personnel on board is sinking off the west coast near North Korea, possibly due to a torpedo attack, reports say.

...The South Korean government has convened an emergency meeting, according to the officials.

The South Korean ministry of defence has not confirmed the reports of North Korean involvement.

ToDaZeD Put Up or Shaddap!

my bet: his $$$ is safe...

Way to call the racebaiters on their horsehockey.

Andrew Breitbart: I am offering $10,000 of my own money to provide hard evidence that the N- word was hurled at [Rep. John Lewis] not 15 times, as his colleague reported, but just once. Surely one of those two cameras wielded by members of his entourage will prove his point.

... If you provide verifiable video evidence showing that a single racist epithet was hurled as you walked among the tea partiers, or you pass a simple lie detector test, I will provide a $10K check to the United Negro College Fund.

...There is no reason in 21st century America on an issue that is not a black or white or a civil rights issue to have a bloc of black people walk slowly through a mostly white crowd to make a racial point. The walk in and of itself — with two of the participants holding their handheld cameras above their heads hoping to document “proof” — was an act of racism meant to create a contrast between the tea party crowd and themselves.

ToDaZeD Discussion Post

dig in

[House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer:]

"There are a lot of angry Americans and they’re angry over this health-care bill, ... violence and threats are unacceptable. It is not the American way.”

“...Democracy can’t survive unless we can have a civil society in which debate is open and free and unfettered..."

Despite his ignorance that this is a Constitutional Republic—not a Democracy [that’s Venezuela, Steny]—Hoyer comes off as a reasonable person with that statement.  At least to those who haven’t been paying much attention.  Which is most of the country.  And most of those who will vote in November.  Which is key.

The rest of US might feel a little ...goaded.  Which may or may not be part of his goal.

[Washington Post columnist Courtland Milloy:]

I know how the “tea party” people feel, the anger, venom and bile that many of them showed during the recent House vote on health-care reform. I know because I want to spit on them, take one of their “Obama Plan White Slavery” signs and knock every racist and homophobic tooth out of their Cro-Magnon heads.

Nice.  But hollow.  And foolish.  And [this may be the point, here] incendiary.

Is this a set-up An Opportunity for the EE* to demonstrate to the ignoratti great unwashed ‘baggers, bitterly clinging to the last shreds of their Liberty and the last few cents of the money they’ve earned, just how the rules are gonna be?  How might the EE react if they perceived [and “perception is reality” goes one of their (BS) memes] that they might actually have to contend with the natural and logical consequences of their elitist disregard for the regular tax-paying American citizen?

Srsly.  What’s with the unprecedented amount of network/cable airtime dedicated to decrying the “spitting, racial epithets, and violence” [that didn’t happen] “coming from the ‘Baggers and Morons,” when they might be expected to be crowing about their “victory?” Why all that energy? And no tape?

Sure, it’s sensationalistic; or would be if there was tape of it.  But there’s only thisI didn’t hear it.  You?

Are they taking their instructions cue from NannyPee, Leader of the KommieKlownz?  [Granted, it’s a dumbass move to actually fone up and threaten a Congresscritter—despite the fact that it goes the other way every frikken’ day.  There are other, more effective ways.] But isn’t it still legal to call ‘em up and cuss ‘em out?  I’m sure that never happened during Chimpy McBusHitler’s administration....

But srsly, this is quite a lot of a hutch-of-a-much over some rather angry, yet non-threatening fone rants, considering the provocation… Is there something more here?

And in light of that, are there some adjustments we might benefit from making in our language?  Sounding measured and thoughtful, and addressing only the facts of an issue goes a long way to calming the discussion.  And looking like an adult.  What say we leave the unhinged tactics—and language— to the Moonbats and reserve the higher ground for ourselves?

After all, elections are about convincing those who are not paying attention; and some many/most of them aren’t in tune enough to relate [yet] to the gut-wrenching anger or garment-renting frustration we’ve come to accept as a part of daily political life.

*EE—“Enlightened Elite”, you clinging redneck ‘bagging ideologically stubborn violence-prone drooling moron.  *sniff*

The EE* is coming to help you ... again

cuz, really, you cannot do this for yourself… and it’s not really your job anyway...

...and they’re really really good at it.

One of the nation’s largest labor unions, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), is promoting a plan that will centralize all retirement plans for American workers, including private 401(k) plans, under one new “retirement system” for the United States. ...the Retirement USA Initiative

Stern also said this:

We now have a new metric. The president says he wants to judge the new economy whether it increases the number of people in the middle class. Whether we have shared prosperity, not just growth. Which is a fundamental different philosophy then what we’ve seen in this country to date. Now how do we distribute wealth in this country ... clearly government has a major opportunity to distribute wealth - from the EITC, from tax policies, from minimum wages, from living wages - the government has a role in distributing wealth and social benefits. We are at historic crossroads ... in terms of what our new president is trying to do and a different way we are going to try and evaluate the economy. And so all of sudden we are witnessing the first new American economic plan led by the government, not necessarily by the private sector.
[emph mine - e~C]

It would probably be "hateful teabagging raaaaacist violent rhetoric" to use words like “confiscation”...

*EE—“Enlightened Elite”, you smelly redneck teabagging ideologically stubborn moron.  *sniff*

Who, now?

ya don’t say...

[Osama has a new tape out:]

“The White House has declared its wish to execute (Mr Mohammed and the other suspects). The day the United States takes such a decision, it would be also taking the decision that any of you falling into our hands will be executed."

and that’s new ...how?

In a previous recording said to be of Bin Laden ... in late January, he blamed the US for global warming.

Does it seem to anyone else that BigScaryTerroristBoy has kinda lost his mojo?  ...his zing?  ...the thread?

This guy reads funny

even Time is maleable under his eye

After a quick perusal of Teh Konstitution [do they really print that on the back of a Captian Bullshit Crunch box?] Atty. General Eric Holder remarked that the “apt” comparison for Osama bin Laden is to mass murderers like Charles Manson who, despite being murderers, still reserve the right to go before a jury and have the charges against them proved beyond a reasonable doubt.  Culbertson failed to ask him which clause of the actual Constitution he found that foreign nationals and enemy combatants are to be treated as though they had US Citizenship.

Then Holder went back to playing Hide My Briefs.
