Way to completely miss the point...

Whoopie whooping

“Community organizers do too have responsibilities!

So there.

nyaaaa.”

OR *clicky*clicky*

The best she can do to is compare the adversities that McCain went through in the Hanoi Hilton with Joe Biden’s adversity in losing his wife and child in a car accident. [no mention of any Obama-adversities...]

Yes they’re both terrible adversities.  But how did she manage to miss the difference?!!?

There's blatant... Then there's overt... Then there's doin' it in the street and scaring the horse

There’s blatant… Then there’s overt… Then there’s doin’ it in the street and scaring the horses…
my horse is whimpering...

And then there’s just plain lazy-arsed, incompetent, horse hockey.  Soledad O’Brien is now pushing that envelope.

...CNN’s Soledad O’Brien sandbag[ed] former White House Communications Director Nicole Wallace by asking her how Sarah Palin can claim to be a defender of special needs children when she cut the budget for that Alaska office by 62 percent. Wallace wasn’t familiar with the charge—which isn’t surprising, since it’s only being made on DailyKos and Washington Monthly. [and WaMo *corrected itself* - e~C]

oooo - little problem, there.

Gov. Sarah Palin and state lawmakers have gone ahead with an overhaul of Alaska’s school funding system… A second part of the measure raises spending for students with special needs to $73,840 in fiscal 2011, from the current $26,900 per student in fiscal 2008, according to the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development

Yeah—trying to hang the budget prepared by her predecessor on her.  Kinda like happened with Reagan and the closing of the CA mental facilities left over from the budget made by his predecessor, Pat Brown.

But wait—you’ll be relieved to hear this:

CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien disavowed any knowledge of a bias on her network against Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, particularly concerning the issue of her five children,

Glad to hear that - especially since, I believe, Soledad has four children under 10 and works at CNN full time.

Folks are actually noticing.  Real folks.  I was chatting with someone today—the kind of guy who usually works 12-14 hr days and whom I did not expect to be up on this political stuff—but he was hopping mad about the whole Todd getting a DUI 22 years ago story.

Heck - I drove by a dead skunk on the side of the road last night.  His little leg was kicking and I could hear him hollerin’, “WTF is it with the MSM and that Palin gal?!?  Leave me alone with that stinky shiite!”

ToDaZeD Golden *Eye Roll* Award

whadda bundler...

Yesterday afternoon, a Republican friend of CODEPINK bequeathed upon Jodie Evans one ticket to Sarah Palin’s acceptance speech last night at the Republican National Convention.

...Evans “dressed up” last night—temporarily covered up her pink outfit with black, put her trademark red hair in a bun on the top of her head, and went off to the event accompanied by another cofounder of the group, Medea Benjamin.

...The two entered the hall shortly before Palin’s speech began, stripped off their outer layers, and revealed their message:

Women say no to war. Palin is not a woman’s choice. Women need a peace vice president.

Not “a woman’s choice?!” Whaddam *I* - a hoppy toad?!?

image

They managed to capture Medea’s best angle, no?

image

This is little Jody the Bundler.

Just FYI;

Evans has bundled between $50,000 and $100,000 for Obama as well as contributing the maximum $2300 to Obama’s presidential primary campaign. She co-hosted Obama’s breakout Hollywood fundraiser at the start of his campaign in February 2007.

As a bundler, Evans has been given perks that include regular briefings by top campaign staffers on policy and private meetings with Obama and his vice presidential candidate Joe Biden.

I wonder if she discussed this idea with Uh-bambam ‘n’ The Old Plugs…

Or these guys?

Nigerian anti-graft investigators have seized money [$630,000] raised by the head of the Nigerian Stock Exchange to support US presidential candidate Barack Obama. ...

Stock exchange chairwoman Ndi Okereke-Onyuike is also the head of Africans for Obama, a Nigeria-based support group. ...

“There is not one Nigerian who doesn’t have a relative or friend in America. Our aim was to encourage those people to tell their family who have the right to vote in America to vote for Obama."

Remember the VRWC 'Smear Machine'?

Remember the VRWC ‘Smear Machine’?
amateurs.

Aimed at the Supermarket/WalMart voters:

So what did Green think when she heard Palin was John McCain’s vice presidential candidate? “ It’s been very difficult to work with her,” she tells Us Weekly. “I wish there had been more vetting."

The Republicans hate her. If you go and talk to the Alaska delegation here, they despise her.

Q: Really?

A: Hate her. Oh my god! This whole thing about her retarded son really being her daughter’s was started by Lyda Green, who is president of the senate, a Republican. [...]

Sounds like that shock jock was right…

Ace *

Picture this; Palin is giving a “commencement address she gave in June to a class of commission students at the Wasilla Assembly of God.” This is considered important enough for the HuffPo to have found and posted a video of it to “provides as much insight into her policy leanings as anything uncovered since she was asked to be John McCain’s running mate.”

Speaking before the Pentecostal church, Palin painted the current war in Iraq as a messianic affair in which the United States could act out the will of the Lord.

This is what they quote Palin as having said to demonstrate the “messianic affair.”

"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God,” she exhorted the congregants. “That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God’s plan.”

She also said, “"I think God’s will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that,”

For folks who are so committed to “understaaanding different cultures,” they have very little understaaanding of what Christians say and mean.  “Doing God’s will” and “praying that our plan is God’s plan” is how Christians say “doing what is Right.” They pay a lot of attention to that—checking and re-checking and, yes, praying that they are doing what is Right.  It’s part of their cuuulture.

Let’s sit back and watch while Sarah Palin does not throw her pastor or her church under the bus.

Just incidentally, here is a reminder of what Uh-bama wrote to put in The Wall—and then later cleared for publication.

"Lord,

Protect my family and me. Forgive me my sins and help me guard against pride and despair.

Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just.

And make me an instrument of your will.”

With all the sexist talk about how Palin is “abandoning her family” by taking on this campaign, where are the NOW harpies women shouting in the streets about Sara’s right to work and ability to “do it all/have it all?” Lest we forget, the other Veep candidate took his Senate oath by his son’s hospital bedside two weeks after he had become the single parent of his children.  That was lauded by the Dems as “heroic dedication to service.” But, somehow, it’s different for a woman, eh?  Even a woman who has a fully-present husband.

Keep an eye on this avalanche of anti-Palin BS. [post the good bits in comments for me, eh—I gotta go out of town today] It’s snowballing hard and fast.  If she can withstand this onslaught, Almondinnerjihaddi and his pals will be fresh meat for her.

And I Quote...

And I Quote…
Hope and Change?

The Perfect Dufusses at the Koz’tard World have thrown the gauntlet.  From what I’ve seen this past couple of days, the MSM is right along with ‘em.

“...surrendering our self-respect I see ... as a cheap trade."
[NB:  not a Koz’tard link - feel free to *clicky*clicky*]

I gotta admit, I’m more than a tad creeped out…

Are you telling me you would not spread lies about a man’s integrity… Are you telling me you would not destroy the love a family holds for one another… We have to judge costs and benefits, not moral absolutes. I know this is the way to fanaticism and destruction

They believe themselves to be so right—no, so Right—so strong, so powerful.  And so unaccountable.

Do they really believe these tactics will improve our Nation?  Or leave us un-Changed?

After that speech by Fred! tonite, I sureashell hope *cough* that McCain has enough character not to throw Palin under the bus—and she et famile have enough character to weather this storm.  Though the outcome either way would be the same:  we [US] lose.

Ace who has more on the musical question Uh-bama would rather run against Bristol.

---

! Hoo-boy!  Watching Teh Fred tonite I got this shuddery feeling we really ducked a bullet on that one…

ToDaZed Random Palin Fact

better ‘n’ better

What is your take on global warming and how is it affecting our country?

[Palin:] A changing environment will affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our location. I’m not one though who would attribute it to being man-made.

Scandalmania!

+ ToDaZed Random Palin Fact

Here’s a bit of Sara-cudda’s background I’ll betcha 50¢ McCain didn’t vet! It’s hot nooz at the HuffPopo…

image
“I may be broke
but I’m not flatbusted"

Oh, the horror!

One of Palin’s first acts as governor was to sell the governor’s jet on eBay. She thought it was wasteful and, besides, couldn’t even land on many of the state’s short, gravel airstrips. ("It was for out-of-state trips,” she said, disapprovingly.) She keeps a float plane, along with some snowmobiles, in her backyard in Wasilla.

At the governor’s mansion in Juneau, she got rid of the chef. The NEWSWEEK reporter asked her what working mother in her right mind would dismiss someone whose sole job was to cook for her family. She replied, “I don’t want them thinking when I’m done being governor that it’s normal to have a chef. It’s OK for them to have macaroni and cheese."

Step Back - Splashing to Commence

Red Meat Tofu for teh Nutroots

ST. PAUL, Minnesota: The 17-year-old daughter of the Republican vice-presidential candidate, Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska, is pregnant, Palin said Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

Bristol Palin, one of Palin’s five children with her husband, Todd, is about five months pregnant and is going to keep the child and marry the father, the Palins said in a statement released by the campaign of Senator John McCain.

"We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us,” the Palins’statement said.

“Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support,” the Palins said.

They asked the media to respect the young couple’s privacy.

“Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media, respect our daughter and Levi’s privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates,"

Here is Sarah Palin clearly not pre... uh… wait…

image

A senior McCain campaign official said the McCain camp was appalled that these rumors had not only been spread around liberal blog sites but also were the subject of heightened interest from the mainstream news media.

“The despicable rumors that have been spread by liberal blogs, some even with Barack Obama’s name in them, is a real anchor around the Democratic ticket, pulling them down in the mud in a way that certainly juxtaposes themselves against their ‘campaign of change,”’ a senior aide said.

So let’s settle back and watch the nutroots go poo-flinging, spit-flying skooters over the horror of a 17 y.o. gal getting pregnant and marrying her boyfriend to have a family.
