Where'dja get that?
Moron More on Pfleger Pflave
Rev. Michael Pfleger, the politically active leader of St. Sabina Church. He gave Obama’s campaign $1,500 between 1995 and 2001, including $200 in April 2001, about three months after Obama announced $225,000 in grants to St. Sabina programs.
Pfleger said he made those donations personally, not on behalf of the church or to win grants. [uh huh]
“At a time when less people vote than ever, I don’t think pastors should be silent on politics,” Pfleger said.
Principled:
"My philosophy was that, if money was being distributed, then it would be inappropriate for me to not get my share for my district,” Obama, now one of the U.S. Senate Democrats’ leaders on ethics reform, said in an interview. “Did I think it was the best way to prioritize government spending? No.”
[emph mine - e~C]
Spreading it around:
Another supporter, Henry English, made two donations to Obama totaling $900 in 2001 after Obama helped send a $50,000 grant to a non-profit group that English ran, the Black United Fund of Illinois.
...
The Chicago-based Muntu Dance Theatre received a $4.5 million grant to help pay for a $10 million cultural center.... And at the time $2.25 million of the grant was disbursed, Obama’s wife, Michelle, sat on the non-profit dance group’s board.

"There’s a black man stealin’ my show!!!! Waaaaaaaaaaaaa!!"
ToDaZeD Best Kept Secret
shhhh
...the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine appeared before the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., and announced that it has the signatures of more than 31,000 scientists ...who agree that the human impact on global warming is overblown.
The petition says:
“We urge the United States government to reject the global warming agreement that was written in Kyoto ... and any other similar proposals. The proposed limits on greenhouse gases would harm the environment, hinder the advance of science and technology, and damage the health and welfare of mankind.
“There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate.
“Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth."

The second step of the now too-familiar dance:
OBAMA: “As I have traveled this country, I’ve been impressed not by what divides us, but by all that unites us. That is why I am deeply disappointed in Father Pfleger’s divisive, backward-looking rhetoric, which doesn’t reflect the country I see or the desire of people across America to come together in common cause,"
PFLEGER: “I regret the words I chose on Sunday. These words are inconsistent with Senator Obama’s life and message, and I am deeply sorry if they offended Senator Clinton or anyone else who saw them,"
Seem one can say just anydamthing he wants if he’s prepared to say he “regrets IF someone was offended.”

...A video that purportedly shows a living, breathing space alien will be shown to the news media Friday in Denver.
Jeff Peckman, who is pushing a ballot initiative to create an extraterrestrial affairs commission in Denver to prepare the city for close encounters of the alien kind, said the video is authentic and convinced him that aliens exist.

America Who?
MSM I expect it from - they’re too stoopud to get it
It was after all just over a hundred years ago that Wilbur and Orville Wright cranked up their first glider-like rides to prove that Man could fly. Now we have Mars in our manned-flight sights and we have proven we can land payloads there relatively quickly with our technological joy stick controllers on Earth combining with on-board computers.
Our American success story needs to be told and heralded often. It should make us feel confident and proud and when we have a truly winning story we should not be afraid to run with it.
...to fail our citizens by refusing to push new boundaries in space would be the same as cutting off the American spirit of hope and the plan of an ever brighter future for us.
Why isn’t any political ass-bozo potential leader of the USA mentioning this proud accomplishment?

Landis+Gyr Holdings Pty Ltd., an international utility-meter company, is expected to announce Tuesday a $360 million deal to furnish Dallas utility Oncor Electric Delivery Co. with “smart” meters for three million homes and small businesses.
The meters are part of an important trend to heeeeelp consumers control electricity use and to help utilities cut operating costs and improve electric-system reliability.
Among other features, the meters will send readings wirelessly, giving consumers and suppliers very detailed information on electricity use.

Backcountry Meanderings
*sigh*

Scale becomes difficult to relate…

On top of some mesas there’s good grazing… But BLM is your landlord. yik.

They’ve been grazing there since the 1880’s. Hard to imagine how they got the stock up there… Rough going.

Then there’s the view.

And the weather. Oh, the weather.....

Spring.

and the view of the weather…

Storm Came In
yikes!
Wind moved in—we moved on. Beautiful day. Snow, rain, less wind, hail, sleet, sun, all casting interesting shadows...
Before the storm hit, we did a little “mining”...

And saw the well known Push-Me-Pull-You…

And the next day,

saw some interesting geological formations…

very interesting.

It’s Spring, yanno, so ther’re lots of flowers.

...lots of desert flowers.

This is my favorite desert flower.
