A Review
not by me, though
what Peter Bronson learned from Algore:
Gore likes to talk. A lot.
Global warming is really, really, serious, as scary as terrorism.
Gore invented clean air. And if you drill deep enough in the Arctic, there’s a line in the ice to mark the exact day the Clean Air Act was passed.
Global warming caused Katrina. In 50 years we will all melt like popsicles in a pizza oven.
Gore loves to say “entire planet” in a kind of folksy, whispery, scary voice.
Global warming causes bird flu, ebola and West Nile disease - and it’s America’s fault for not driving more Chinese cars.
Gore was robbed in the 2000 election. Global warming must have been involved, or the election wouldn’t be in the movie. “It was a hard blow,” he says, as a soft guitar gently weeps. “But what do ya do? You make the best of it."
Here is AlGore going to Cannes.
Nice purse, Tipper...
Here’s what Algore’s future holds for you ‘n’ me. [Algore will still be aboard that G5...]
Nice Choice CINDY
I guess we know on which side your bets are laid...
Little Starving Cindy has decided she’d rather live in Hugo’s paradise than under the dictatorship of BusHitler. I wonder if she knew ElHugeo was gonna invite a third little friend to play?
What? Awwww—but the poor little fella was ronery.

Maybe there's a reason . . .
and, yes, I’m using the word ‘reason’ ironically
Maybe the *cough* reason some people aren’t more disquieted by the possibility of being over-run by 7th Century hordes bearing Sariia Law is that they wouldn’t be losing that much ground.

...and da myth go *BOOM* *poof* *tinkle*tinkle*tinkle*
*tinkle*tinkle*tinkle*
expect this fella to next be seen carried down the street by tenured professors—covered in tar
Two billion war deaths would have occurred in the 20th century if modern societies suffered the same casualty rate as primitive peoples, according to anthropologist Lawrence H Keeley, who calculates that two-thirds of them were at war continuously, typically losing half of a percent of its population to war each year.
...Why is it that the modern public revels in a demonstrably false portrait of primitive life? ... stories of wise and worthy native Americans, African tribesmen, Brazilian rainforest people and Australian Aborigines…
the overwhelming consensus in popular culture holds that primitive peoples enjoy a quality - call it authenticity - that moderns lack, and that by rolling in their muck, some of this authenticity will stick to us. Colonial guilt at the extermination of tribal societies does not go very far as an explanation, for the Westerners who were close enough to primitives to exterminate them rarely regretted having done so. The hunger for authenticity surges up from a different spring.
His conclusion is unusual and interesting.

I love the 4th!!
like old times… *sigh*
As I was going to Safeway for the second time today, I realized I was driving highway speeds!!! On the highway! That hasn’t happened for, oh… 10 years.
I dunno where everyone is but I sure as hell hope they like it a lot and stay there. It felt like having my home back.
And here’s a treat that came to me as a craving:
a tub of exxtra good sour cream
3/4 that much Best Foods Mayo
2 pkg frozen spinach chopped fine
1 Vidallia onion chopped fine
a coupla handfuls of pinoles [aka pine nuts]
a scant shake of crumbled feta to taste
It’s supposta be a dip for french bread [or pugalese] bits but I can’t stop eating it with a fork! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
A Big Salad With Everything which includes: carrots, celery, red leaf and green leaf - butter lettuce, too if feeling extravagant - green onion bits, finely chopped broccoli flowers, any other veggies in the fridge, top with freshly made bacon [I use the pepper coated, thick stuff and slice it into bits before I put it into the pan] cranraisins with orange essence, sliced honey roasted almonds and croutons.
Add in grilled tri tip and chicken, some fruit salad, deviled eggs [with bacon] that dip above and various other horse dervies and *poof* picka-nicka!
Oh yeah—finish with a chocolate cake frosted with [real with just a teaspoon of vanilla and a tablespoon of powdered sugar per pint for stability] whipped cream with fresh strawberries cut up in, and strawberries and blueberries on top arranged to resemble the flag!
