As the government controls the supply of permits to emit carbon, limiting their supply can discourage the burning of oil and coal that in turn generates carbon dioxide, which scientists blame for global warming. The system benefits nuclear and wind energy that produce no carbon dioxide.
So Ahnold just signed us on for more coal powered electric plants. [BTW, CA doesn’t mine coal; we gotta drag it in by train. Lollypop-powered trains, I’m sure.] See, we can’t have nuclear plants—even though the Frentch can do it, which proves a ‘tarded macaque can do it—because we have enviro-Nazis earthquakes.

The prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay during the war on terror have attacked their military guards hundreds of times, turning broken toilet parts, utensils, radios and even a bloody lizard tail into makeshift weapons, Pentagon reports say.
Incident reports reviewed by The Associated Press indicate Military Police guards are routinely head-butted, spat upon and doused by “cocktails” of feces, urine, vomit and sperm collected in meal cups by the prisoners.
They’ve been repeatedly grabbed, punched or assaulted by prisoners who reach through the small “bean holes” used to deliver food and blankets through cell doors, the reports say. Serious assaults requiring medical attention, however, are rare, the reports indicate.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) issued that call after an Israeli air strike killed at least 57 civilians in the town of Qana, the site of a similar massacre of civilians by Israel a decade ago. (In 1996, an Israeli air strike on a United Nations compound in Qana killed more than 100 civilians who had sought shelter there.) Lebanese officials said the majority of the dead in today’s attack were children. Hundreds of Lebanese civilians have been killed in previous Israeli attacks.

A report from the CATO Institute titled, “Does U.S. intervention overseas breed terrorism? The Historical Record,” presents a much more logical understanding of events.
...The gist of the theory is that “the numerous incidents cataloged suggest that the United States could reduce the chances of such devastating, and potentially catastrophic, terrorist attacks by adopting a policy of military restraint overseas.” The gulag at Guantanamo Bay breeds terrorism. The torture at Abu Ghraib and extraordinary renditions breed terrorism. Occupation of others’ lands breeds terrorism. Imposing unlawful, punitive and inhumane sanctions on the whole Palestinian population for electing their own government breeds terrorism. An Israeli bombing that killed a whole family on the Gaza beach breeds terrorism.
Promoting the fallacy of the “clash of civilizations” will not help our community.
Gotcha—it’s not the doing of the Mad Mullahs and alQ: it’s the US’s fault.
I agree, though, that the “Clash of Civilizations” meme is inaccurate: it’s the Clash of Civilization against The Primitive. Or the Life Force against Entropy, if you like.

SEATTLE (Reuters) - A woman was killed and five other women were wounded on Friday when a gunman opened fire at a Jewish organization in downtown Seattle that last weekend organized a rally in support of Israel.
A Seattle police spokesman said the gunman, who was thought to be acting alone, had been taken into custody but that authorities were “taking every precaution” in searching for explosives and additional suspects.
Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle Vice President Amy Wasser-Simpson told the Seattle Times in a story on its Web site that a man got through security at the building and shouted, “I’m a Muslim American; I’m angry at Israel,” then began shooting.
