Things In Mirror May Be Even More Distorted Than They Seem
no longer just buffoons

Before you read on, consider the pic carefully; how many things are just ...off? Like whoinhell fishes in a grey flannel suit and tie? Is this 1955?!? Doubtless the crafters of this propaganda have only seen men in grey flannel in Sinatra movies on TBS—how would it occur to them to dress up their Killer Daddy thus? Naive grasping for imagery of the unfamiliar? Doubtful.
Imagine that a man dangles a piece of candy in front of you. You love candy so you reach for it. But, as you grab the candy, a huge metal hook stabs through your hand and you’re ripped off the ground. You fight to get away, but it doesn’t do any good. You are caught, and there is nothing that you can do about it.
You’d feel really scared, wouldn’t you?
That would be an awful trick to play on someone, wouldn’t it?
But guess what?
Your Daddy plays that same wicked trick on fish AND FISH GET SCARED TOO!
Considering PETA’s record when it gets its hands on actual animals ‘tseems to me that their genuine point is not about animals but about that ol’ favorite - the Marxist ideal of ridding the planet of that awful entity, the family. The only righteous and valid sources of information and small ‘v’ values are of course big groups, collectives and the goooooovernment. yep.
This’ll make for warm family times around the ol’ dinner table:
Until your Daddy learns that it’s not “fun” to kill, keep your doggies and kitties away from him. He’s so hooked on killing defenseless animals that they could be next!
Yes indeedy! Your Daddy is gonna kill your puppy! Maybe tonight after eating an entire cow. Alive!!!
Mommy is not left out, either—last year’s comic already demonstrated that Mommy not only kills wantonly for Daddy’s dinner but for her own vanity as every tube of mascara kills, whaaa? a gazillion bunnies.

WooHoooo!
Lookie what Jack did!
My pal The Old Rat Killer done got himself a blog!! Look forward to insightful, bullsh!te-free commentary.

Demonstrating the courage of their lack-of-convictions, media fotogs focus on the one non-controversial aspect of the delivery of the White House Christmas Tree. In turn, the horse looks toward the part of his anatomy he believes most relevant to the moment.

Rev up your Offended Bone -- it's our turn!
or would that be called the ‘Huffy Bone’?
House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., in a letter to the Architect of the Capitol, recommended that the annual Capitol Holiday Tree, as it has been called the past several years, be renamed the Capitol Christmas Tree.
Somebody ‘splain it to me: what holiday other than Christmas uses a decorated tree as one of its principle symbols? Who’s it being shared with?!?!?
So [show of hands] who [Christian or non] is offended by people being unable to hear the name of their religion?
How well would it go over to quash the name of Islam? [see: CAIR]
How well did it go when people were offended by hearing the name of Judaism? [see: Kristalnacht]
"Peace" groups as clear on the concept as ever
another demonstration of why parenting is important
I love The Courier-Mail headline:
Peace group hits out at allies [*snork*]
Christian Peacemaker Teams, a group that has had activists in Iraq since October 2002, said it was saddened by the video tape of their workers ...[and] blamed the US and Britain yesterday for the abduction of [their] four activists shown in an
insurgentterrorist video, saying the kidnapping was the direct result of the occupation of Iraq.
I’d start out admiring someone who wanders into an active war zone to help non-combatants; that requires the courage of one’s convictions. Somehow turning the inevitable consequences of that choice into a political blame game takes the shine off…
First law of Life [all together now]:
UPDATE: Apparently the Terrorists are picking up on the meme:
Uruknet: One look at the CPT (Christian Peacemaker Teams) in Iraq website and it becomes obvious who abducted Kember and his associates and why....No doubt all of this Christian activity sincerely upsets the Pentagon and the Bushcons.

Along with actually considering clemency for Dookie Tookie the Crip Boss, Our Dear Gobernator Ahnold has chosen a new chief of staff: Susan Kennedy, former Gray Davis aide [yeah, that worked out well for Cahleefohrneeiah] and former director of CARAL.
Davis agreed to endorse every policy position asserted by CARAL. And to prove how committed he was, he made CARAL’s director, Susan Kennedy, his Cabinet secretary, the state’s highest staff adviser, the person who determines what the governor hears and who he sees. ...[one of the most extreme organizations in the Democratic Party, the California Abortion Rights Action League (CARAL)]

Yanno what chaps my hide?
aside from wet jeans....
Jeff Goldstein is right:
For several years, these people have been testing the water, trying to gauge the size of the lies they can get away with. Unsurprisingly, they’ve come to realize that, if they all simply insist on the “truthfulness” of a given lie of their own creation and marketing, that little piece of the greater war narrative will, with the help of a compliant media, slowly ossify into “fact”—or at the very least, will dig beneath the skin of settled history and fester there, constantly picked at by the conspiracy theorists and fantasists who stroke their own egos by pretending to know more than the surface reveals.
[It doesn’t chap me that Jeff is right—we’re all pretty much over that by now. It’s what he’s right about.]
What also chaps me is that the rational humans among us [regardless of party affiliation - if any] have not yet discovered a method of combating this practice. Whatinhell happened to The Enlightenment and the Age of Reason, anyway?
The particular kerfluffle that prompted Jeff’s overall statement is the “Chemical Weapons = White Phosphorus therefore America = Saddam” meme being pushed by the likes of Kos, Jon Stewart and, no doubt soon, Billary and Howie.

Ya need a scorecard....
izzit a ‘hate crime’?
Last Wednesday, ‘bout midnight, in predominantly black West Oakland CA two groups of about a dozen men each rushed into two grocery/liquor stores, sweeping bottles off shelves, pushing over racks and smashing fridge doors with metal pipes.

Twist? The stores are owned by Arabs and the men were wearing suits and bow ties. Before the vandals left, they demanded that the shopkeepers stop selling liquor to black people.
“So I was standing there keeping my hands up watching them break all these windows, glass bottles and stuff,“ said [owner’s son, 17-year-old Khalid Saleh]. “They said we’re Muslims, and selling liquor to the community, that we ain’t supposed to be doing that.”
Add in the fire that gutted one of the markets last night.
Local Nation of Islam members deny any involvement and claim the media is trying to discredit them by portraying ‘groups of young black men in bow ties as thugs.’
Live in Cahleefohrneeiah is getting cohmpleecaated.

Count the times you see this elsewhere today
betcha MSM will be all over this like white on sh!t
Democrats fumed last week at Vice President Cheney’s suggestion that criticism of the administration’s war policies was itself becoming a hindrance to the war effort. But a new poll indicates most Americans are sympathetic to Cheney’s point.
Seventy percent of people surveyed said that criticism of the war by Democratic senators hurts troop morale—with 44 percent saying morale is hurt “a lot,” according to a poll taken by RT Strategies. Even self-identified Democrats agree: 55 percent believe criticism hurts morale, while 21 percent say it helps morale.
...Their poll also indicates many Americans are skeptical of Democratic complaints about the war. Just three of 10 adults accept that Democrats are leveling criticism because they believe this will help U.S. efforts in Iraq. A majority believes the motive is really to “gain a partisan political advantage."
The key word in that sentence being “adults.”
