SC -- Precedential Primary?
Is it really a good idea to make people take a Loyalty Pledge before allowing them to vote ?!? Or maybe Kelley is right and it's just Make the South Look Stupid Week. . . UPDATE: Backcountry Conservative has the Press Release from the SCDP saying that the DNC "gave clearance" for them to toss the loyalty oath.Just askin'
I know; I don't get out enough so the SB half-time show comprised the majority of my exposure to pop "culture" for the last, oh, year or more. I gotta ask: what is the cultural significance of crotch grabbing? Please, help out a simple country girl. I want to understand. UPDATE: My friend, who works with little kids, said that, with the sound off [heh], it looked like how badly socialized 3 year olds dance.Sunday, February 01, 2004
To boob or not to [be a] boob . . .
Ahnold is hitting the interview trail to push his ballot combo, Prop 57 which borrows enough money to cover the deficit at a lower interest and Prop 58 which prevents over spending. In an interview with KPIX-tv tonight Ahnold was asked this fair and balanced question: Question: Aren't you cutting health care for poor people so that someone can drive a Mercedes? [*sigh*] The gist of his answer: With these measures we will "bring discipline into the whole thing." "Failure is no option" "I trust the people more than the politicians. They are smart. They have common sense." It tickles me to hear him mention "discipline" repeatedly in his speeches. He treats it as if it were ordinary thing, no promises of free lunches -- no fantasies of making "those evil Mercedes drivers" pay for it all. Maybe, as he continues to talk to voters as though we were responsible adults we'll continue to act like it. As opposed to ogling boobage at the Super Bowl. I mean really... The woman rehearses it for hours, dons a breakaway costume and then tries to look *shocked* when that little wanker rips her top off. Sheesh. UPDATE: KGB explains it all: Janet'sStatistics
