Are you guys already cheating on your welfare or just too stupid to live? OOooooooor: as it is obvious that there is no freakin' way you have any likelihood of making money from these Spamments, Is This Harrassment??? C'mon my legally minded friends; let us know! Disingenuous?

But the fact that these accusations come at the most opportune time to harm the accused indicates to me that the accusers have not healed, nor are they attempting to heal. They have merely switched roles from Victim to Perpetrator and are committing acts of revenge. On any random Monday I would happily have given these women the benefit of the doubt. Even years after the stated date of the offense, credence can be given as the length of people's processes varies. But the fact that these accusations come at the most opportune time to harm the accused indicates to me that the accusers have not healed, nor are they attempting to heal. They have merely switched roles from Victim to Perpetrator and are committing acts of revenge. Isn't it time that we teach our daughters, not to mention ourselves, to refuse to be a "horrified victim?" I mention in passing some strategies:

> state in a loud, firm voice, "Take your hand off me!" or "Where is [insert wife's name here]?" for crowded social situations among peers; > grabbing the nut-sack and twisting - hard - followed by a loud, clear, "Oh my god, [insert his boss' name here]! Is he having a heart attack?" is good for work; > smack the asshole with a 5 lb dumbell - aim for the temple but the nose will do, followed by, "Oh, I am so sorry! are you OK?"

The Letter of the Day Was M

Mildly Moratory, I Meander M-wards to Match the Masterful Maunderings of the Mistress of VenoM. M is for Moron, which he certainly is, and also for Masochistic, which US drug laws are. M is for Maria as she Maintains her Mate's Manifest Monogomy. [I mean, *really* -- 6 boobies in 30 years is all they could come up with?!? Hell, Clinton did as much before breakfast! And the Dims called "Manly." merde] M is for Magazin, the German Magazine, "NU" [translation by Xrlq] Making clear that Ahnold, as a young Man, Made Mince Meat of Neonazi Muttonheads. M is for Mistake "oops - hope calling you a Nazi didn't Mess anything up for ya!" M is for Master of None who Molds a different Mental Model M is for Moussaoui who has been given More than enough chances -- "Military Tribunal" ring any bells? M is for Miss Attila who is Mad at blog*splat. [M-agine that!] Move on up to MT, My dear! M is for PM Mulling Marijuana ""I don't know what is marijuana. Perhaps I will try it when it will no longer be criminal. I will have my money for my fine and a joint in the other hand," said Cretin M is for Minks, cute little cannibals with the lovely soft fur that Morons like ALF ought to M-ulate.

The Council Has Spoken ! !

The Winning Entries for the Watchers Council this week are: *drumroll* Money Is NOT the Answer ! ! by AlphaPatriot, and Michael Moore's Call to Arms by Brain Terminal. I must give a special recommendation to this post from a filmmaker of the ...er, righter persuasion. He confronted Moore, in person on the street, about the question of the preponderance of left-leaning documentary film makers vis a vie the limitations on campaign funds. The concern he addressed is that "documentary films" are also used as political or campaign tools while avoiding the restrictions of the campaign spending laws. Moore's response, and responsiveness, is startling. This videoed conversation with Moore is an excellent precursor to the films I am anticipating that Evan Coyne Maloney will make. Maloney is one to keep an eye on.

Now This Is The Point

The Blogosphere is an amazing thing. Those who discount its growing effects on our media-happy, data deluged and information starved culture just aren't paying attention. In particular, I am referring to the latest project by Frank J of IMAO [yep, that Frank J] and the Alliance Dedicated to Silly Blogwars. [Why, yes, I have been out of the loop for a while. Why do you ask? *blink, blink blink*] I'll give you Frank's words:

...one thing has been pissing me off lately, and that's the coverage of the war in the media. All we hear is the negative news, and everything is painted to make the war look like a failure. Yet, anytime I talk to one of our troops who has actually been in Iraq, the outlook is quite different. I hear how nice and thankful the Iraqi people are. I hear of all the progress that is being made. ...And I never hear any of this in the major media. Some of this is just the habit of media to dwell on the negative, but not all of it. These are stories people want to hear, but too many news organizations have no interest in them. And I don't think I'm going to far out on limb to say some of them are purposely ignoring any good news to try to spin victory into failure. They are trying to fight a propaganda war. Well, let's fight back. ...Public opinion, both in America and world wide, will affect the outcome of this war. If Iraq is seen as a victory, it could cause the collapse of more evil regimes because they'll know they are next. If it is seen as a failure - a “quagmire” -then evil is encouraged and strengthened. Here's what I propose. I bet most of know some troops who have been are in Iraq and the almost forgotten Afghanistan. Let's record their stories of how things really are and have a blog devoted to just posting that with no commentary. ...We put up both the good and the bad, with nothing to hide, but we get the real story out there.

The project is called Front Line Voices and it officially launched today, 10.1.2K3. Also see the Introduction and then think of anyone you may know, or know of, who is currently serving in or around the Middle East and who might be able to give a first-hand impression of the situation in their area. Maybe your cousin's hairdresser's sister's daughter is serving. Drop her a line with the link to Front Line Voices or a copy of the Submision Guidelines and ask if she would like to tell Americans what her experiences are. The Contributors who are putting together this project have decided to make no commentary nor edit any submissions. The goal is to gain a more valid picture of what is actually occurring in Iraq and Afghanistan so they will post all points of view. This is the kind of project the Blogosphere was born for. To see how it is being put together see Front Line Voices Meetingplace and perhaps contribute a thought or two. ThanQ! Little Miss Atilla

Further Clarification

WichiDude's Story Idea feature is a submission type of affair. If you have a thought, a snippet, a line or a passing idea, he will see if he can incorporate it into a story. Run by and give him an idea or two -- this time the genre is Science Fiction.

Beautiful Bloggers !

The Watcher set an Herculean Challenge and you have achieved it!! I thank all the bloggers who helped out when I begged asked nicely for it. Y'all have warmed the cockles of my heart. [blush] AlphaPatriot describes a sea change in the wind world wide mentioning, among other things that a professor in Denmark is calling on the government to encourage the stupid not to reproduce as the population is, as a whole, growing dumber. Refreshingly un-PC. Sgt. Hook tells us what A Real Sergeant is like. We could sure use more like that around The Country™. . . Right on the Left Beach has an interesting take on why it is a Good Thing for McClintok to stay in the Recall™, explaining why Recallus Interruptus may be a problem. [shudder] The Ever Effervescent Kelley, good buddy indeed, gave me quite a boost with a mention in the Cul-de-sac -- the biggest linkfest in the blogosphere. Kelley grows philosophical as she considers the roads not taken. Watchers Council pal, The Smarter Cop proves the validity of his blog-title yet again by creating a Haiku Edition of his Link Compendium. Verra kewl! Master Yoder at The Accidental Jedi discovered that she is a Large Mammal! Much deserved, I'd say. Kate is having an "H" day, today. This Electric Venom Invention is most marvelous system for challenging linkage -- particularly for those of us who aren't up to Haiku. I'm Honored by the Help, Kate! The bestest thing about the Watcher's Challenge is learning about blogs who have introduced themselves to me. Arrgh!!! not only captured me with her blog title ["It's Just My State of Mind..."] but her writing grabbed my eye as well. She's not afraid to tackle topics not oft discussed and she does it well. I could Have Been A Contender is written by an English gentleman -- compleat with accent. Delightful! Humour, too. I have seen WichiDude's name in comment sections and have been intrigued. Turns out my instincts were right -- among other things, Wichi Dude has an ongoing Story Line inspired by happenings on other blogs. Good stuff. Dear David is writing fiction again ! ! ! He and Val Prieto at Babalu Blog will be posting the first Sudden Fiction: Short Stories by Bloggers on Halloween. I love a good short story -- it is the most difficult of the genres. Writers -- Go See . . . Fellow Bear Flagger Patterico is wondering whether or not to incorporate comments in his blog. I know this is something about which every blogger has definite opinions, so go help him decide. Another newer member of the Bear Flag League, BoiFromTroy recently celebrated his One Week Anniversary of blogging! Go Boi!! I think you've got the idea . . . Workaround Blog [he'll fix it in the next release . . .] sheds new light on Clark's campaign ideas. btw, I *love* catty, Jon. Brambleramble -- good photos, more, please. Please don't forget about Dean's contributions to Toys for Iraq and the contributions you could make, too. Well, I gotta say I don't know how Kelley and others do it. A linkfest is a lotta work but the blogs that I got to read along the way really did make the time and effort well worth my while. Check 'em out for yourself and see. Thanks, again to my supporters and, until the next time I screw the pooch, I'll see ya subsequently. [only someone who's *really* from The Country™ will recognize that tag line...]

Watchers Council -- Herculean Challenge

The Watcher is a hard man -- to please. Since I have been ever so remiss in voting two [2!] weeks in a row, he has set me the task of getting 12 [twelve] non-council blogs to link to his post announcing the winners of this week's Watchers Council and to the winners posts. My only excuse, poor as it is, is the continued illness of my iMac [who is still in hospital awaiting body parts] and the difficulty of using an interim set-up that is ...er, inconvenient. [I'm really bad at typing while kneeling on the floor. . .] I'm begging counting on y'all to take pity and help me out. Please spread some linky-love in my name or they're gonna strip off my epaulettes and drum me outta the corps. The Watcher is clearly not one of those wimpy "Compassionate" Conservatives. . . [ please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please? With Sugar On Top?] The posts are all worthy reads, so I will include for your pleasure, edification, and by way of reward for your linkage, a link to the list of all entries this week, too. Watchers Council Entries of the Week To Help Me Out all you need to do is link to this post: The Watchers Council Has Spoken! and the two worthy winners below. And This Week's Watchers Council Choices are: *drumroll* Approaching Iran by Spiced Sass , and The New Uncle Wiggle Wings by Dean's World *applause* [This post will stay at the top of the page [with newer entries falling below, so check and see] until I have bested the challenge or until my time is up and the swearing at out ceremony begins. Take pity on me, dear blogosphere, for my time is short and my tasks are many.] UPDATE: Now don't go and tell him I said this, but The Watcher is really being very sweet about helping me with the task he has set for me. It daunts me, nonetheless, but his kindness is heartening. I would also like to thank profusely Dean Esmay for his link in my honour. Oh, and be sure to check out Dean's ongoing efforts for Toys for Iraq. Good show, all . The BoiFromTroy has also earned my deep gratitude for his help. UPDATE: Jonathan Elliott has been kind enough to lend a link to the cause; with the added benefit of letting us know about his blog. Good writing, sensible ideas, with a nice, twisted sense of humor, to boot. Go See Workaround Blog UPDATE: I've gotten a leg up from Deaddy Bear, a good ol' boy from The Country™ and an excellent photographer as well as a good blogger. I'm guessing he's rather fond of ol' Uncle Jerry, too.
